3. Data Collection on this Website

Server Log Files

The hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in ensuring the functionality and security of our website)

Contact Form

When you contact us via the contact form, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your subject / topic of inquiry
  • Your message content
  • Time of submission
  • Your IP address (processed temporarily to limit the number of submissions and prevent spam/abuse)

Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR (consent) or Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (contract initiation)
Purpose: Processing your inquiry and potential business communication. Your submission is delivered to us by email (see “Email Delivery” under Third-Party Services below). No automated confirmation email is sent to you.
Storage duration: Until the inquiry is fully processed, then deleted unless a business relationship is established

Cookies

The public pages of this website set no cookies at all. No tracking, advertising or analytics cookies are used, and no consent banner is therefore required.

One strictly necessary cookie is set only if you log in to the password-protected private area at /piccolini:

  • Name: piccolini_auth
  • Purpose: keeps you signed in to the private area; it holds a signed session value and no personal data
  • Retention: 12 hours, after which it expires automatically

Legal basis: § 25 para. 2 no. 2 TDDDG (strictly necessary for a service you expressly requested) and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in securing a private area).

Hosting Provider

Provider: Google Firebase App Hosting, operated by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), a subsidiary of Google LLC, USA
Purpose: Website hosting, server-side rendering, and content delivery
Data processed: Server log files, IP addresses, browser information
Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and reliable hosting)
Data transfer: Data may be processed on Google infrastructure outside the EU, including in the USA, on the basis of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Privacy policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy

Email Delivery (Contact Form)

Provider: Resend, Inc., USA
Purpose: Delivering the messages you submit through the contact form to us. Your email address is used only as the reply-to address on that message; no automated email is sent to you
Data processed: Your name, email address, subject, and message content
Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (contract initiation) and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in reliable communication)
Data transfer: Data is transferred to the USA on the basis of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Data Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction, or unauthorized access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in accordance with technological developments.

7. Use of AI in Creating this Website

Parts of the content, design and source code of this website were created with the assistance of generative AI tools. All published material was reviewed before publication, and editorial responsibility remains with the controller named in section 1 and in the Imprint.

This is disclosed for transparency. It has no bearing on the processing of your data:

  • No AI system runs while you browse this website. The pages are static content and server-side rendering, nothing more.
  • None of the data you provide — contact form submissions, server log files, or any other personal data — is transmitted to a provider of generative AI, and none of it is used to train an AI model.

We reserve the right to update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our data processing practices or legal requirements. The current version is always available on this page.
